Erol Alkan presents… Ghost Culture

Posted on Aug 13, 2013 in Electronica, Mix, Techno

Phantasy Sound label owner Erol Alkan signs on another up-and-coming artist to his growing roster: Ghost Culture, a producer out of London whose identity is as hazy and mysterious as his moniker. Avid social media followers of those associated with Phantasy, namely Alkan and label-mate Daniel Avery, will have noticed that the two had been hinting at Ghost Culture’s impending arrival for little over a week now with little to offer the information-hungry public, save for a single mix by Daniel Avery on a new Soundcloud account. However, a more formal introduction was made today by the label as Ghost Culture offers a new mix filled with ominous electronica and pulsing Detroit techno from big-wigs Ian Pooley, Legowelt, Omar S, and The Knife. The mix nears its end with an original track of his called “Red Smoke,” a throbbing, future warehouse stomper that Daniel Avery calls “one of the biggest records for [him] this year.”

Check out the mix below, and stay tuned for a forthcoming release from Ghost Culture on Phantasy Sound. Feel free to check out the newly crafted Facebook page as well while it’s still fewer than 100 fans.
