Smooth out your Tuesday night with Golf Clap

Posted on Sep 17, 2013 in Chill, Deep House, House, Mix

Tuesday is slowly winding down, and while some of us are already planning ahead for a party-filled weekend, I feel for those of you who are simply too exhausted to even move from the couch after a long day of work and/or school. Luckily, I have the antidote for your not-quite-Friday blues: a low-key, groove-tastic mix from rising production pair Golf Clap.

The Detroit-hailing lads, Bryan Jones and Hugh Cleal, have been catching the ears of major house-heads with their penchant for deep, swirling music that has the 90s written all over it, and even the 90s legends who influence their music—Kerri Chandler and Miguel Migs, to name a few—are taking note of the new pair, who started releasing music together earlier this year.

This “Smooth It Out” mix is perfect for those who just want to mellow out for a bit, but don’t confuse “mellow” for “boredom”: it’s got just enough groove to keep your attention, and maybe a little more get those hips swaying if you can muster up the energy. The tracklist (found below) is perfectly curated as well: a healthy balance of new names to pique the interests of avid music explorers as well as some familiar names for those just wading into the deeper layers of electronic music, such as Chris Malinchak, Hayden James, and Bondax. Definitely check out the Perseus remix of Jeremy Glenn’s “New Life” and Max Graef’s “Life on Mars” on their own as well. Just press play and let the stress melt away.

The pair are kind enough to give away a lot of their tracks and mixes (including this one) away for free; all you have to do is head on over to their Facebook page and give it a ‘Like’ for immediate download access. #thankmelater
