Jakwob - Somebody New (Dismantle Remix)

Posted on Mar 1, 2014 in Bass, House, Remixes

Jakwob was keeping it cool, just waiting for “Somebody New” with Tiffani Juno on his latest house tune. Then Dismantle walked in the place. Snare drums banging, there was no question things were about to change.

Apparently not content with the current low-key approach, the remix prowls around unabashedly with an air of entitlement. It knows what it’s after, and it’s going to get it. The ratcheting bass even seems to channel M.I.A.’s “Bring the Noize” (produced by Switch and Surkin) which certainly puts it amongst some classically bold company.

The character of the original remains, but there’s no denying the track’s move from passive to assertive. Dismantle simply isn’t waiting around.
