Blackedout – Champagne

Blackedout is as mysterious as his moniker suggests. The nameless producer released his eponymous debut EP earlier this year, and now he’s back with a track that falls perfectly in line with the bleary chill of the winter season.

“Champagne” has the kind of beat for which I’m not sure what I’d rather do: get drunk off it, or dive in and swim around in it. Pleasantly chill, calming to the ears, with the lightest of smoky layers, this downtempo track was made for the introvert in you: prime for listening while gazing out the window at grey skies during rainfall. The syrupy-sweet piano chords, crisp snares, and full bass-line mesh with washed-out R&B vocals to create a smooth slice of silky bass music that’s as dreamy as it is melancholic.
