Krewella - Live For The Night (The Remixes)

“Live For The Night” is Krewella‘s most recent single off the group’s debut album, Get Wet. The fun, pop EDM party anthem has appeared in tons of live sets and radio shows over the past couple months. Everyone seems to throw a little Krewella into their mix, and why not? We love to sing along with the Yousaf Sisters. A remix compilation of “Live For The Night” will be released on November 5th and it will feature an eclectic sample of artists from a wide array of EDM genres who have added their unique touches to the Krewella track.

Here’s the original music video, in all of it’s hard raging, hair flipping, whiskey pouring glory:

The UKF dubstep youtube channel just uploaded a genre-bending remix from Pegboard Nerds of Krewella’s “Live For The Night.” Pegboard Nerds infused the Get Wet track with a dose of dubstep and hardstyle, and put some interesting effects over the vocals for a unique spin that works really well. The Nerds have a history of working with Krewella- they collaborated on ”This Is Not The End,” one of the most aggressive dubstep tracks on Get Wet, and also did a remix of “Alive“ that Krewella featured in many of their sets last year.

Dash Berlin took the track and gave it a euphoric, trance-inspired sound with an amped up pound of the beat. It’s a pretty straightforward remake.

To me, the unmistakable, characteristic W&W drop kind of sounds like the first second of an elephant trumpeting. They utilize that trumpeting noise at so many of their drops because it’s a huge sound on big, concert sized speakers. So of course the W&W stomp shines through on their remix of “Live For The Night.” I liked their addition of a soft piano riff in the beginning of the track, it takes the song from a soft, light sound, up through to the heavy blast at the drop, making it a roller coaster of a song. A lot of DJs will be playing with this one- Nicky Romero, Hardwell, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike already have used this remix in their sets.

The Deniz Koyu & Danny Avila version doubles the length of the song. The stretch comes from a three separate builds in the song, the first one is just an added intro build. The outro highlight the nuances of the track, an adds about 30 seconds. Overall, this track just sounds like a drawn out version of the original.

The last remix of the 5 is no where to be found on the internet (or at least it’s not on Soundcloud, my Google search, Youtube, or Facebook… maybe I missed it somehow). We’ll have to wait for November 5th to hear what dirty dubstep spin Xilent has for us.
