Avicii ft. Audra Mae - Addicted To You (Rex Riot & Basscamp Remix)

First thing’s first. If you haven’t gotten the chance to listen to Avicii’s debut album True, you need to do so immediately. Though not perfect, the album represents something greater than the sum of its parts. Within True, Tim shows us that there is still plenty of room left in commercial dance music to do something different. Rather than placate the masses with a deluge of ‘Levels-esque’ bangers, he chose to completely separate himself from the pack and carve out an independent space for himself as an artist. You may not even like the results (although I’m hard-pressed to believe that), but you have to appreciate the motivation behind it all.

Anyways, as you’d expect, the Avicii remixes are already starting to flood in. However, in keeping with Tim’s “left-field” concept, we wanted to highlight one track that really stretches the imagination with its direction. DC-based producers Rex Riot & Basscamp have put together a fantastic arrangement of one of True’s more reserved cuts, ‘Addicted To You’.

Starting off with a lush Rhodes piano, the remix does well to showcase Audra Mae’s incredible vocals throughout. It quickly accelerates into a french-house hook that will immediately remind you of the energy in some of Justice’s older productions. The momentum and flow are fantastic and will leave you hitting the replay button all day.
