Lorde - Tennis Court (Basscamp Remix)

Posted on Aug 22, 2013 in Bass, Future, Remixes

If you haven’t heard the name Lorde yet, it’s time you get better acquainted. The 16-year-old New Zealander has been blowing up around the world with her mesmerizing sound. “Lorde is also an industry curiosity: her single “Royals” is consistently climbing the Hot 100 and “The Love Club” EP cracked the Billboard 200 chart in June, despite a sound lack of U.S. promotion before her debut stateside show.”

Though the young talent has already been thoroughly remixed (a trend we can only expect will continue), we had to highlight one restyling in particular. Taking the first single ‘Tennis Court’ off her forthcoming debut album Pure Heroine, DC-based producer Basscamp has done something completely unique. While keeping much of the track intact, Basscamp beefs up the bassline while adding in some subtle but tantalizing percussion. Everything leads into an incredible drop that combines elements of minimal techno, trap, and ambient flavors.
