Trent Cantrelle - Nice & Close EP

Posted on May 14, 2013 in Progressive, Tech House

Before his days of Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello was a known master of dark progressive tracks. While he may have traded in the loopy, sinister beats for the fireworks and three-chord house of the main stage, his passion for a more underground sound lives on through the creation of his label, “X“. After celebrating ten years of SIZE Records, X is a sub-label that will allow Angello to include a wider myriad of unique sounds. For its first release, Trent Cantrelle provides a hypnotic two-track EP, which includes title track “Nice & Close”, a beautiful mix of vocal progressive, while the B side “Understand” is an unforgiving groove with twangy tech drums, reminiscent of a Shadow Child production.
