MONSTA - Tudo Se Foi/Gone

Posted on Mar 15, 2013 in Bangers, Electro, Moombahton

MONSTA have shifted their focus with their new (and free) release and are straight up raging.

“Tudo Se Foi” (Portuguese for ‘all gone’) sounds almost nothing like the trio’s previous singles “Holdin’ On” and “Where Did I Go?”. Instead of relying on their vocalist, Skaar, to carry the track into the genre-defying realm between R&B and dubstep like before, the group has two-stepped the energy to dancehall shouts and squeaky synth-cuts. Skaar definitely still lets out some good howls, but the track lacks the voluminous soul of the previous releases. This is merely a trade-off though as MONSTA speed up the tempo and add a serious moombahton kick.

It’s not entirely clear what the song title refers to, but it certainly could relate to the departure from the group’s prior sound. It will be interesting to see if these two styles balance out, or if one side eventually takes over. Either way, it’s all good!
