Spor - Ziggurat / Push Me, Pull You

This week marked the release of two unbelievable singles from the highly regarded Drum & Bass artist Spor (also known as Feed Me). The production quality of these two tracks is absolutely mind-blowing, which isn’t surprising when considering Jon Gooch‘s (the man behind both pseudonyms) track record of unbelievably well-crafted tracks. While the release only consists of two singles, there is enough to digest for weeks of repeated listening. It’s truly something that I think many people will enjoy, and something that producers will likely attempt to emulate.

‘Ziggurat‘ is Spor’s opening Drum & Bass track, and is nothing like any track I’ve heard before in the genre. With light piano-sounding hits and a soaring bass/lead line that tear through the mix of Drum & Bass breaks, there is never a dull moment in the track. ‘Push Me, Pull Me‘ is slower and glitchier dubstep track, but no less energetic. Spor has again proved his reputation as a versatile and distinguishable producer with this release, and these two tracks will serve as an excellent introduction for anyone wanting to get into bass music.
