Sub Focus - Tidal Wave ft. Alpines

Sub Focus’ forthcoming single ‘Tidal Wave’ could easily be one of my favorite records of 2012. While ‘Falling Down’ and ‘Out Of The Blue’ marked a definitive evolution of his sound, ‘Tidal Wave’ may very well be his magnum opus. The production is crystal clear and the melody is absolutely irresistible. It’s hopeful and bright, but layered with nostalgia and emotional depth. The top-line synth and Alpines’ vocals complement each another perfectly and the overall feel is magnificently smooth. The freshly released music video does well to capture the song’s essence through organic minimalism and symmetry.

To make things even better, the release of ‘Tidal Wave’ will be accompanied by one of the most exciting remix packages I’ve ever seen. The EP will feature remixes by trap stars Flosstradamus, dirty-dutch house prince Chuckie, dubstep gaffer Kill Sonik, and a deep house interpretation by Shadow Child. Each is a completely unique take on the original with an entirely different feel. The ‘Tidal Wave’ bundle will be out on Novemeber 4th. For now check out all the previews and the music video below.
