Robin Thicke - Feel Good (Oliver Heldens Remix)
From romantic red roses to sinful neon lights. This is the effect Oliver Heldens has on Robin Thicke.
The Dutch producer strips the original track of its affection, showcasing Thicke’s attractive bad-boy side. Shedding away the pianos in favor of deep bass and minimal, industrialist synths, the remix develops a dangerously chic persona. This is all illustrated surprisingly well in the cover art, as well as in the video which draws you into the realm of dirty vices under its blinding neon glow (the roses from the original video have been cut out almost completely).
The sound on the remix is most similar to Heldens recent original “Gecko”, with the dash of dirt descendent from his whomping electro remix to Martin Garrix’s “Animals”. With Robin Thicke’s inarguable vocals acting as a gateway to the intoxicating indiscretions, the temptation to party and dance is irresistible. There’s simply no point in trying to fight it.
Robin Thicke asks “If I party ’til the mornin’, would you stay with me? Girl would you play with me? Or would you hate on me?” It’s a good question, because Oliver Heldens has the smooth-talking vocalist out all night. It felt good before, but it feels even better now. Pick it up Monday (3/31).
