AWE - Crystals

Something great is about to happen. At least that’s what it sounds like. “Crystals” is a stunning breakout track from Los Angeles producer AWE.

At this point, there isn’t much known about AWE, and this mystery is immediately apparent on “Crystals”. You’re not sure how you feel with it at first. It dances around, dipping in and out of shadows as if pacing and pondering. But then the 80s synths strike, and the feel-good vibes come rushing in. The chill, contemplative track then dives straight into a cool, deep beat, and that’s when you know it has you.

“I started writing ["Crystals"] eight months ago, when I was having a tough time with a few things,” AWE noted to Factmag. “I think the only kind of music I was comfortable writing was happy anthemic tracks to take my mind away.” (read the full interview at Factmag)

The contemplative track is difficult to place a particular emotion on at first, and that only makes it more interesting. But by the time it breaks through, it feels full of optimism. Great vibes all around. Take it all in and pick it up on Beatport.

Also be sure to check out the euphoric drum-trap vocal mix by Djemba Djemba below who AWE says is “the hardest working producer” he knows.
