Fatboy Slim & Riva Star - Eat Sleep Rave Repeat (Calvin Harris Remix)

Posted on Aug 2, 2013 in Bangers, Electro, Hardstyle, Remixes

Among all the non-feline cats, clowns, and dancers/cops, Calvin Harris now lets us hear what the narrator on “Eat Sleep Rave Repeat” might actually have been raving to. And if Calvin Harris’ production is any indication, the guy can’t be blamed for partying hard.

The remix stops the party cycle on “raving” as the track flashes back and forth from story to the music it’s influenced by in true meta fashion. When you hear the vocals lead up to the drop, you know what you should expect, and the slamming techno that follows doesn’t disappoint. In fact, Calvin Harris does a great job staying true to the original while dolling it up for the masses.

If you didn’t already know the backstory to this track, it’s apparently a real dude talking about a real party. Fatboy Slim said that he and vocalist Riva Starr randomly came upon the guy “ranting in the street about some 3 day bender he had been on”, noting he might still be on that bender, and made a recording.

Pick up the mesmerizing original here if you haven’t already, and/or just “Rave and repeat” with Calvin Harris below.
