Paul Woolford – Untitled

Posted on Jul 8, 2013 in Brand New, House

A little over a month ago, UK producer Paul Woolford’s “Untitled” track made its way onto Skream & Benga’s BBC Radio 1 show with an immediate positive response from listeners, who recognized a vocal sample from Switch’s classic 2011 single “I Still Love You,” featuring Andrea Martin. The sample, stemming from a song that is minimal in beat but heavy in emotion, gets a classy re-work, rife with piano keys, that dips into the deep end with a fat bass-line. Those of you who tune into the weekly Essential Mix may have heard this played just a few days ago when Breach slipped it in among other choice picks. “Untitled” has finally seen a release date, as it drops today on Hotflush Recordings; it’s Woolford’s first EP with the label in almost two years. With support coming from all ends of the electronic spectrum, from Skream to Jackmaster, to Ben UFO to Bicep, “Untitled” is undoubtedly going to have loads of playtime this summer.

Look out for Woolford as he prepares to release his Hardcore EP on Houndtooth later this month under his Special Request alias, followed by his debut album due by the end of the year.
