Doorly & Terravita At Avalon Hollywood Review

Posted on May 10, 2013 in Bangers, Bass, Events, Reviews

On what seemed like it would be a down Friday night, we mobbed over to the Avalon in Hollywood to check out CONTROL LA and the special guests of the night: Doorly and Terravita. Although there weren’t as many people there are on nights with bigger acts performing, the vibe was perfect. Doorly started off the night dropping his typical tech house beats, including tracks from the UK duo Disclosure and various Dirtybird artists. Doorly did a great job starting off with his normal set, but upped the intensity as the night ensued to prepare the crowd for bass heavy Terravita.

Terravita, comprising of 1 DJ and 1 MC, absolutely brought the house down. The crowd rushed to the front, creating an atmosphere perfect for the heavy basslines and fast DnB beats. They dropped top dubstep cuts including ‘Experts’ by Skism, ‘Hold on’ by Monsta/Skrillex, and even dropped some popular trap beats as well. Although we were rushed to exit and missed Dieselboy’s set, we heard nothing but good things from the bass legend. Props to CONTROL LA for yet another amazing friday, and showing us all that although the names might not be ‘top 5′ the Avalon is truly the place to be on Friday/Saturday nights for electronic music junkies.
