Sub Focus ft. Alice Gold - Out Of The Blue

Posted on Apr 10, 2012 in Drum n Bass, Preview

Sub Focus has been a monolith in the commercial dnb scene for years. His famed singles ‘Rock It’ and ‘Splash’ have been tearing up clubs for years and his remix of “Hold On” by Rusko remains one of my all-time favorites. Coming off a string of successful releases, including “Could This Be Real” and “Falling Down” (available for free download on his facebook page), the London producer has wasted no time and delivered yet another underground banger.

“Out Of The Blue” is a beautifully crisp dnb anthem. The synths shine brightly over the hook and the quick-paced drums drive the track smoothly from start to finish. For those who are weary of the dnb genre, consider this “dnb lite”. This track is very accessible and shares much more in common with the euphoria and excitement of today’s house/trance than the dark griminess of traditional drum n bass. “Out Of The Blue” is set to drop on April 29th accompanied by remixes from the likes of Xilent, XXXY, and Laidback Luke.

Until then, tide yourselves over with these brand new visuals!

And if the music hasn’t already convinced you to go see a Sub Focus performance, check out this video of him playing out “Out Of The Blue” on his brand new live setup:
