Here is another massive remix collaboration from two of Indie Electro’s freshest DJ’s right now: Adrian Lux & Blende. This remix preserves the gritty and hard quality of the original but adds a sweet Electro – Disco  bass line that is much groovier, I’m loving it. The remix just came out yesterday via Roadrunner/Atlantic, make sure to check it out below and support the artists!

It’s about time we had a Dillon Francis feature on Moombahton Mondays. He’s been arguably the most talked about producer of the genre since its inception. My first exposure to moombahton actually came when I heard “Masta Blasta” on Radio 1 with Annie Mac almost a year ago. Since then the young Los Angeleno has put out a spectacular list of originals and remixes, my favorites including “Que Que”, and his remixes for Kill The Noise, CSS, and Chase & Status. Last week, Dillon Francis dropped his newest EP, “Something, Something, Awesome” on none other than OWSLA. Overall, it definitely isn’t the most groundbreaking work he’s put out, but it’s still worth a listen for every moombahton lover out there.

First off the EP is “Falling Up.” This track has got a great bounce to it and I love the piano breakdowns, which Dillon mentioned were inspired by Skrillex’s track “Ruffneck (Full Flex).” Second up to bat is “Now Hear This”, my personal favorite as it is a much heavier onslaught of squeaking Dutch synths and skin-peeling basslines. “Dill The Noise” wraps up the album and is unfortunately where I think everything falls flat. I hear almost no contribution from Kill The Noise in this piece. It’s like he wasn’t involved at all. In fact, for awhile I thought everything could have been confused and the collaboration had been on “Now Hear This,” which sounds much more like what I would’ve imagined from both producers. This track just didn’t bring anything new to the table. I feel like I’ve heard every fragment of that song in other tracks he’s produced. Listen for yourself and see what you think. As a nice gift however, Dillon did release a free VIP of his thumper “IGAFOS” the day that “Something, Something, Awesome” was released.

Say what you want about David Guetta–the man has talent for days. Lots of people like to scoff at how mainstream EDM is becoming, but frankly, we should be thanking artists like David Guetta. For years, those of us who have been seriously involved with EDM culture have complained about how under-acknowledged our music is, yet now that EDM is blowing up, it seems like everyone likes to complain about how mainstream it has become. But when did we ever decide that the goal was to remain underground? People like David Guetta have been largely responsible for bridging the gap between mainstream culture and dance music,arguably validating our music for the rest of the world. “Wild One Two” is a song that will further progress dance music and expand our community. It has an incredibly wide appeal, and is an absolute smasher. There is so much talent in this song. Sia has been one of my favorite vocalists since her “Some People Have REAL Problems” album dropped years ago, and Nicky Romero is one of the fastest rising stars in dance music. It comes as no surprise that Nicky Romero would be working on a track with David Guetta. Romero is somewhat of David Guetta’s mentee, his protege. He’s kind of like the Alesso to David Guetta’s Sebastian Ingrosso, if you will. This song is definitely a banger, and I predict that it will be huge in both the pop and EDM communities this year.

Mister Perfect AKA Clinton Jake VanSciver hails from Los Angeles, CA. He is young (only 19!) but has already made his mark on the EDM scene earning the commendation of industry heavy-weights like Paul Oakenfold, and hitting #20 on the Beatport electro house charts in October of 2011 with “Secrets.”

Mister Perfect is now hitting us with an impressive remix of Eiffel 65‘s hit “Blue.” What’s even more impressive (and kind of hilarious) is the fact that Mister Perfect was only six years old when Eiffel 65 dropped this one-hit wonder.

I have to admit I was a little incredulous at the prospect of a remix of this song, partly because it brought back memories of being an awkward teenager and as well as the eye-rolling cheesiness of it. But Mister Perfect changed my mind almost immediately and transformed “Blue” into something worth being listened to on repeat.

Don’t let the lack of years under Mister Perfect‘s belt give you any ideas about not taking him seriously. He has done solid work and his remix of “Blue” because is polished and professional and easily holds its own with remixes done by other more experienced DJs. It is whimsical and bubbly and it deserves your full attention ASAP!
