I love techno. Its tongue-in-cheek futurism has always been one of my favorite sounds in EDM. Koen Groeneveld is one of my favorite modern techno artists, too; coming off the success of the cowbell-ridden Slides and a great remix of Andrew Bennett‘s The Orange Theme (a classy rendition of the theme music from the cult classic A Clockwork Orange–the perfect foil for what techno sounds like and stands for), Koen recently remixed dirty beats legend Silvio Ecomo‘s track In The Dip. Replacing the minimal house of the original, Koen‘s remix spices the track up a bit, adding a distinctly funk-influenced riff in the melodic section and hitting that futuristic minimal sound on the nose. This amazing techno artist is certainly one to watch.
