Leak: Child In Time (Morten Breum Bootleg)

I woke up this morning feeling pretty hungover, and the shitty rainy weather in LA definitely didn’t help either. I checked my email like usual, and had emails from different artists and managers asking me to check out their stuff and post if I liked it/please help support/etc. (typical). I give everything that gets sent in a listen because quite frankly, I’m just that nice.  With that being said, one track in particular caught my eye: “Child In Time (Morten Breum Bootleg)” by Deep Purple. This is an exclusive leak, so you won’t be finding it anywhere else.

About a month ago, I posted about Danish DJ and producer Morten Breum, and said to keep an eye out for this guy in the future, and the future is now. He’s in LA making some creative stuff, like his bootleg of Deep Purple’s “Child In Time.” Let’s be honest, how many producers out there are messing around with 1970′s British rock and adding an electro spin to it? I know I was a little skeptical at first, but after I gave it a listen the idea didn’t seem so farfetched. The track is unique and funky and that’s what really gets my juices flowing. It starts out pretty mellow and then builds up with piercingly distinctive synths and a catchy beat. Some of the original vocals are used to keep the authenticity of the original, and I respect that. This record has a fresh new sound that makes me have faith in the creativity of the producers out there today. Check it out and let me know your thoughts on it, I’m down to have a discussion.

Word has it that Morten is also working on a remix of the ever popular Avicii track, “Levels.” I can’t wait to hear the finished product, but in the mean time enjoy this preview on his SoundCloud. From the little we have to listen to, this one is gonna be a banger boys and girls. The drop is fuckin’ EPIC so hold on to your rave gear and get those fists pumping.
